A bit about me:
I've always been athletic and weight conscious (what teenage girl
wasnt weight conscious) throughout high school. I played basketball and ran track,
wasnt really good in either. My first experience with weights was when I played
basketball. The only thing we ever did was leg extensions(dont know why). It was not until my twin brother started lifting weights to put on size that I really
got serious about it. He was a football star, but small. I was a tomboy and pretty much did whatever he did. So, I
guess you could say, he started the ball rolling in bodybuilding. He trained
hard and heavy and so did I. We both have very good genetics. I noticed I started gaining muscle really easy and that I liked the way I looked and felt. I love the feel of the weights in my hand and mastering the movement of the weight along with the power
and explosiveness of the movement. It boosted my confidence level through the
roof, not that I was lacking in the area.
The one
thing I did noticed was that, especially in the mid 80s, not everybody was ready for women with muscles. Sometimes even today, people arent ready. But, it is more
acceptable today than it was then. Society is more health conscious now. Although, from time to time I get stares, the majority of the time, its all good. People compliment me all the time and that alone sometimes is my motivation. My motivation now is my goal of competing on the Olympia stage. But first, my Pro card.
